WSEH athletes dominated in the South of England Indoor Track & Field Championships at Lee Valley Stadium over the weekend emerging with 4 Area Champions, a new Championship best performance plus a host of minor medals.

Morgan Lake was the star of the show, winning the Under 15 Girls Shot event in a new Championship Record of 11m97, taking a silver in the 60m Hurdles with her 9.31 secs and finished just out of the medals in the Long Jump with 4m88.

Jo Fallon was another to make her mark in the same age group winning the 1500m in 5m35.0 adding to the bronze she won in Part 1 of the championships last weekend.

Jenny Pacey, who shares her passion with athletics, with being one of the ‘Gladiators’ in the TV series, won the Senior Long Jump title with a pb of 6m04.

400m specialist Steve Johnson dropped distance to the 200m to good effect, winning the Senior title in 21.93secs.

Shakira Wight was in good form in the Senior Triple Jump taking the silver medal with her 12m19.

It was also silver for Sam Maguire in the Under 17 60m Hurdles with his clocking of 8.30 secs, the same time as the winner.

WSEH were prominent in the U20 age group. Deji Tobais took silver in the 60m with his 6.77 secs whilst David Harvey grabbed bronze in the Long jump with 6m67

The Senior Men category saw Lawrence Clarke on a silver in the 60m Hurdles with his 7.94 secs clocking and Andy Matthews proved his form with a bronze in the 60m in 6.80 secs after winning his semi in 6.72secs.
