WSEH AC’s main focus last weekend was in a number of indoor meetings taking place across the country including the club’s own indoor meeting at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre.
Perhaps the best performances came in the Inter City Challenge in Sheffield where WSEH’s Jenny Pacey continued her fine run of form to win the Long Jump with 6m16. Training partner Shakira Whight was also on song with her 3rd place in the Triple Jump with 12m25.
In the Birmingham Games there were more WSEH athletes on display. The High Jump provided some good results. Alan McKie was 3rd in the Senior Mens event with 2m00, the same placing gained by Frances Smithson in the Senior Ladies with 1m60. In the Under 17 Mens age group, Mitchell Field was 4th with 1m75.
In the Under 15 Girls 800m Jo Fallon continued to show her liking for ‘the boards’ by again winning the 800m in 2m33.72. Dawn Hunt was 2nd in the 400m in 55.92secs.
The sprint hurdles saw decathlon specialist Matt George 5th in 8.54 secs, whilst the flat 60m produced a 7.42secs for Andrew Weekes in 7th spot.
