With the summer track season fast approaching a number of youngsters from WSEH chose to test their winter training at the Bracknell AC Young Athletes Meeting on Saturday. The rain detracted from the occasion but there were still some medal winning achievements

Under 17 Age group
The WSEH hurdles specialist were to the fore in this age group, though Sam Maguire chose to show his sprint speed in winning the 200m in 23.05 secs, with Lewis Bridges in the silver position on 24.09 secs. Bridges also grabbed another silver ion the 100m with 11.79secs.Charlotte Banks took gold in the 80m Hurdles in 11.56 secs. Laura Suggitt grabbed a brace of medals with gold in the 300m in 44.47 secs and a bronze in the 800m in 2m27.61. Callum Todd was the best over 1500m with his 4m25.42 secs and James Bennington was ion the bronze slot with his 2m2.3 The field events produced a host of medals for the local club. Ellie Norris won the Hammer with a pb of 34m29 and the Shot with 8m96 plus taking silver in the Discus with 23m74. Newcomer Hannah Johnson was a winner of the Javelin with 38m60. Morgan Jury repeated the feat in the male Javelin with a winning distance of 41m60 with Ryan Horner in 3rd with 39m20.

Under 15 Age Group
Once again it was a WSEH hurdler that caught the eye on the track in this age group. National Champion Steph Clitheroe was in a class of her own in the 75m Hurdles, taking gold in 11.70 secs. Olivia Caesar was on form with a win in the 100m in 13.03 secs and second in the 200m in 27.09 secs, with Steph Clitheroe in 3rd in 27.59 secs. There were also gold and silver awards for Sophie Street(2m26.84) and Jo Fallon(2m28,7) in the 800m event.
Gabriella Zivanovic gained a silver and bronze in the Discus (25m68) and the Shot(9m26) and Harriet Walters was on the silver standard in the Long Jump with 4m64. Filay Fulford continued the WSEH domination of the Javelin event with a gold on 28m05
The best results from the Boys came from Taylor Campbell winning the Hammer with a pb of 46m01 and taking a silver medal in the Shot with 9m67, another pb. ahead of Alan Martin with 8m99, There were good runs from new boy Charlie Critchley (2m20.38) and Gus Cockle (2m24.36) for silver and bronze in the 800m.

Under 13/Under 11 Age Groups
Though there was good WSEH representation, medals were scarcer in these age group. Tilly Compton-Stewart was the lone medallist in the U13 category with a silver in the 600m with 1m54.1
In the U11 Age Group Josh Roberts caught the eye with his win in the 159m in 23.03 secs and a silver in the 60m in 9.33secs. In the girls 60m Amelia Dorey also was in the silver slot in 9.78 secs
