Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club return to the top flight of the domestic British League season after an absence of five years.
In the first match of the 2008 British League season the men of WSEH having gained promotion to the Premiership last season found that the gulf between the two divisions was enormous.
Points were hard to get and a final position of 8th and points adrift at the bottom failed to dampen the enthusiasm and motivation that Mens Team Director, Bryan Goodman, felt after a truly team effort studded with personal bests of the highest calibre.
Mark Dry (hammer) produced a series of six throws that increased his PB each time to eventually break through the 60m barrier. Steve Kimber (5000m) sliced another 12 seconds of his PB while 18 year old, Alex Tovey showed true grit to increase his PB in the 1500m to the extent of achieving the English Schools Qualifying time he eagerly persued.
16 year old, Deji Tobais and 17 year old, Josh Patrick (100m/200m) were not overawed by their opponents and the youngest debutant in the team, 15 year old Rikki Letch, continued his advance up the 800m ladder with another PB that extended his lead at the top of the Under 17 UK Age group
The team was heartened by the return to the track of Rion Pierre after an enforced lengthly absence through injury and the impressive performances of our gifted and talented High Jumpers, Alan McKie and Cameron Lake.
