In the last match of the 2008 British League season, which was held at Hendon, the men of WSEH were left adrift at the bottom of the Division and relegated to National One after only one season in the Premiership.

The team was once again hampered by illnesses and injuries to key athletes, and although the team selected fought hard for the Club they could not compete against their heavily sponsored opposition.

To compete at the top a Team must be sponsored and the Committee at WSEH have vowed hard to find that elusive sponsor to enable the team to compete on a level playing field.

Far from being dejected, the Mens Team Director, Bryan Goodman, preferred to dwell on the advancement of the younger athletes drafted into the team, during the season, namely, Rikki Letch, Ashley Fry, Ainsley Campbell, Grant Fuller and Ashley Bryant. He vowed to lead the team back into the Premiership at the first attempt.
