WSEH held the first of their Winter Series of Indoor Meetings on Sunday, attracting athletes from as far afield as Liverpool. There were also a number of WSEH athletes on show, relishing the opportunity of testing the progress of the winter training.
Hurdles specialist Jamie East showed a fine turn of speed over the 60m flat sprint finishing 2nd of the U20 athletes in a time of 7.31secs. New signing Johnny Sawyers was 4th in 7.39secs. Seamus Burke also made the top 3 in the U17 race, taking 3rd place with 7.58 secs. In the U17 Ladies race Salisha Patrick was 2nd in 8.32secs and Georgie Haynes was similarly placed amongst the U15 Girls with 8.49secs with Lola Ogusanya 3rd in 8.67 secs.
George Butler had his first taste of indoor running and proved to be the top U13 boy with his time of 8.51 secs with Michael Harvey 2nd in 9.24secs. Michelle Warren was the best of the few Senior Ladies present with her clocking of 8.55 secs. Morgan Lake was also the top ranked U13 girl with her 8.63 secs, with Anna Inverary 2nd placed in 8.87 secs.

The 60m Hurdles produced a number of winners from the local club.
Jamie East was the best of the U20 Men in 8.29 secs. Sam Maguire took the U17 Mens race in 8.82 secs with Cameron MacRoberts 3rd in 9.78 secs. Morgan Lake was in a class of her own in the Under 13 Girls in 10.19 secs whilst Charlotte Banks was 3rd in the U17 Ladies race in 9.99secs.
