WSEH had some 20 of their top athletes competing in the Bedford International games at the weekend.

The event is invitational and is designed to showcase some of the best of the UK’s upcoming talent.

WSEH produced a number of winners throughout the meeting.

Lawrence Clarke was in a class of his own in the Under 20 110m Hurdles winning in 13.72 secs. his recent form has attracted the attention of the promoters of the famous Bislett Games in Norway and he has been invited to compete next weekend.

Nigel Levine is fast establishing himself as the UK’s top 400m runner at present, winning his race in 46.58 secs.

There was also a win for former Commonwealth Champion Julian Golley now approaching veteran status, in the Triple Jump with 15m91

Minor placings also fell to a number of WSEH athletes.

An injury free Rion Pierre was 2nd in the 100m in 10.58 secs.and 18 year old Deji Tobais was 2nd in the 200m in a pb of 21.47 secs.

Ashley Fry took 3rd in the U20 400m Hurdles in 55.35 secs and Laura Burke, still just 16, was similarly placed in the Senior Ladies race. There was also a 3rd place for Alan McKie in the High Jump with 2m06

There were 2nd and 3rd places for Dawn Wilson(54.74 secs) and Shelayna Oskan in the 400m and also a 2nd place for Chanelle Taite in the U20 100mHurdles in 13.91 secs.
