GCSE exams, half term holidays and the early morning start for the long trip to Norwich all played their part in WSEH AC sending a much depleted team to contest the third in their National Young Athletes League Southern Premier series on Sunday. Those committed athletes that did make the trip rose to the challenge with track athletes contesting unfamiliar field events to fill the gaps in the team to secure valuable points and also surpassing themselves in their chosen events – producing over 50 personal bests on the day. The outcome was a 5 point victory over the host club City of Norwich AC, thus maintaining WSEH’s unbeaten tag in defence of the title that they won last summer and also moving the club to current top place in the league table.
Match Result: WSEH AC 455.5 pts
City of Norwich AC 450.5
Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers 340
Medway & Maidstone AC 253
