Due to adopting the youth and experience policy used in the first match, WSEH travelled to Norwich for the second Southern League match of the season with a depleted team as several of the youngsters remained at home revising for pending exams. Those that managed to travel produced excellent results in extremely windy conditions to keep the Club on track for promotion. Several performances may appear to be low in the results but athletes were running between events just to register a mark for the good of the Club. Captain, Steve Walker led the way with a PB in the Pole Vault and the B string was won by the rapidly maturing Charlie Smith who equalled his PB before dashing round to record a triple Jump PB performance. The sprinters continued their dominance of the events and kept an undefeated record in both Relays with Tom Evans stepping in so naturally to anchor the 400m Relay boys to victory with what he says will be his one and only 400m race of the season. Star Hurdler, Ashley Fry, produced immaculate hurdling to win before showing a clean pair of heels in the flat 400m to win so convincingly. Club asset, Jamie East continues to impress all with his total commitment to the cause by producing priceless winning results in 400m Hurdles, 110m Hurdles, both relays and a good third place in the Long jump. It was not all about the next generation at the Club as Peter Virgo rolled back the years to win the B string Discus while Club favourite, Neil Griffin, produced excellent results in the Shot, Discus and hammer. To complete the trio of Over 60 year old athletes, Walter Wessley completed both the 5000m and 1500m.
