The WSEH AC Indoor Meeting on Saturday attracted some 150 athletes from as far afield as Liverpool and the Isle of Wight and included international Greg Rutherford from Milton Keynes AC whose outing paid dividends as he ran a new personal best in the 60m in 6.71 secs.
There were a number of WSEH athletes that also made their mark throughout the afternoon. Josh Patrick was the best of the Under 20 sprinters with his 7.01 secs clocking and Ainsley Campbell was 2nd placed in the U17 age group with his 7.32secs. The WSEH ladies were also prominent. Georgie Lamothe was the quickest of the U17’s with her 7.92 secs with Shalisha Patrick in 2nd with 8.14secs. Steph Clitheroe was similarly placed in the U15 age group with 8.53 secs with Olivia Caesar in 3rd on 8.61 secs. Amongst the U13’s Pat Berry was the 3rd placed Boy in 9.25 secs, whilst Alex Hollenbeck went one better in the Girls with 9.35 secs just ahead of newcomer A. De Souza on 9.37 secs.

Under 13 Girls – Hope White 9.53 secs, D.Ferrett 9.54 secs, Michaela Wright 9.58 secs, Francesca Lavender 9.85 secs
The 60 m Hurdles event saw more WSEH athletes figure prominently. Harriet Shurley was 2nd placed amongst the Senior Ladies with her 9.91 secs. Sam Maguire was a clear winner of the U17 men in 8.45 secs with Cameron MacRoberts 3rd in 9.37 secs. Charlotte Banks was 2nd place in the U17 Ladies in 9.93 secs, with Amy Partridge 3rd in 10.94 secs. Stephanie Clitheroe was well clear in the U15 age group with her 9.67 secs clocking and Hope White was the second placed U13 Girl with her 12.01 secs.
The Pole Vault produced another WSEH winner. Steve Walker equalled his best in the Senior event with 4m10. Younger brother David set a new best of 2m50 to take 3rd in the U17 age group but the most emphatic advance came from Charlie Smith in the same age group improving some 30cms to 3m10. The other WSEH Pole Vaulter present, Dan Ditton achieved 2m20 in the U15 competition.
