The last in the series of the WSEH Winter Indoor Open Meetings at Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday attracted nearly 200 athletes from as far afield as Scotland, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight.
There were a number of WSEH athletes testing their form for the coming summer season and amongst these was Josh Patrick who dipped under the 7 secs barrier for the first time to clock 6.98 secs, the fastest Under 20 athlete in the 60m sprint. It was good to see Michael Lee back on the track and he clocked 7.25 secs, just ahead of 400m specialist Adam Medcraft on 7.26 secs and Jamie East on 7.30 secs. Best of the WSEH Senior Men was Decathlete Matt George with. 7.50 secs. Glen Reddington was the best of the vets on display topping the Vet 45 age group with his 7.87 secs. Georgie Lamothe was by far the fastest of the Under 17 Ladies, winning her race in 7.85 secs, and this feat was repeated by Georgie Haynes in the Under 15 Age group with 8.20 secs and George Butler in the Under 13 Boys with a pb of 8.30 secs.
Pascale Waterson was the 3rd best of the U17 Ladies with 8.30 secs, and Steph Clitheroe was the next best in the Under 15 category with her time of 8.39 secs, with Olivia Caesar not far adrift on 8.40 secs. There were more good results in the U13 Girls age group with Zoe Toudup the best with 8.80 secs , Josslyn Stotter clocking 9.16 secs and Alex Hollenbeck on 9.20 secs.

Best of the WSEH 60m Hurdlers was Jamie East, 2nd in the Under 20 Age group on 8.22 secs. Matt George was the third fastest of the Senior Men present with his clocking of 8.90 secs. Cameron MacRoberts was the best of the Under 17’s with his time of 9.60 secs. Steph Clitheroe was the top ranked Under 15 Girl with 9.40 secs. and Hope White the best of the Under 13 Girls with her 11.90 secs. In the Under 17 Ladies category Charlotte Banks lead the way with 9.77 secs, with Sarah Phelps on 9.87 secs.
The WSEH successes continued in the Field Events starting with four winners in the Long Jump. Matt George was the best of the Senior Men with 6m02, Shakira Whight leading the Senior Ladies with 5m65, Georgie Haynes the Under 15 girls on 4m71 and George Butler the Under 13 boys with 4m79.

Alison MacLeod went on to win the Triple jump with a leap of 10m73.
The busy Matt George was the best of the WSEH male Shot Putters with his 2nd place with 11m96. Amongst the Girls Ellie Norris was 4th in the U15 category with 8m20, with Tara Barrett on 7m81. Best of the WSEH U13 Girls was Josslyn Stotter in 2nd place with 8m06 and Chelsea Crowe with 6m40.
