Some 120 athletes from far and wide descended on the Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday for the first in the WSEH AC series on Winter Indoor Open Meetings. There were some good performances from WSEH athletes wishing to test how their winter training was progressing.

60m Sprint
Under 20 athlete Ravi Talla proved to be the the fastest of them all winning the top race in a new pb of 7.16 secs ahead of more senior counterparts. Jumps specialist Jonathon Sawyers was the 3rd fastest of the U20’s with his 7.28 clocking
Best of the U17 Men was hurdles specialist Sam Maguire with his winning 7.42secs, with Taku Muzungu 3rd with 7.40secs. Chinedu Monye was by far the best on the Senior Ladies with her 7.93 clocking and George Butler was the top U15 Boy with 7.98secs. Natalie Beale topped the U20 age group with her 8.30 secs, whilst Charlotte Banks was the best U17 with 8.44secs but was overshadowed by Morgan Lake who showed a clean pair of heels to her older rivals in the U15 category with her superb 8.26 secs

60m Hurdles
Sam Maguire made it a winning double in the U17 60m Hurdles in 8.47 secs with training partner Cameron MacRoberts 2nd in 9.56secs. Harriet Shurley, fast getting back to her best, was the top of the Senior Ladies with her 9.38secs and Natalie Beale likewise topped the U20 list with her 9.55 secs with Faye Williams on 9.62 secs. Charlotte Banks emerged as the best of the U17’s with 9.48secs. Max Dorey was the top U15 Boy with 11.01secs, with Tom Coe on 11.95secs

>strong>Pole Vault/High Jump
WSEH’s two Pole Vaulters both achieved pb’s, Charlie Smith finishing 2nd in the U17 Age group with 3m80 and Dan Ditton on 2m70.

In the High Jump Tom Reynolds won the Senior Men category with his 1m85 and Tom Coe was the lone U15 competitor, clearing 1m20.
