WSEH AC athletes were in super form at the South of England AA Senior and Under 20 Championships at Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Pride of place went to Dan Pembroke setting a new Championship Best Performance in the Under 20 Javelin with a massive throw of 72m54, in the process breaking not only his own Under 20 WSEH Club Record but also annexing the Senior mark as well. A slight modification to his arm action has seen him twice, in as many weeks, exceed the 70m barrier.

Another WSEH thrower to strike gold was Jo John in the Senior Ladies Hammer with 56m14 and another WSEH athlete Bola Ogun took the bronze award with 52m87.

Local athletes also fared well in the Long Jump event, Jenny Pacey won the Senior Ladies title with her pb of 6m35 and David Harvey also leapt to a best of 6m84 to claim bronze in the Under 20 event.

WSEH had 3 athletes in the final of the Senior Ladies 400m. Nicola Sanders took silver with 53.95 secs, with heir apparent Shelayna Oskan in the bronze position on 54.82 secs. Former champion Lesley Owusu was 5th in 55.83 secs.

Steve Johnson was a silver winner in the Mens 400m in a pb of 47.66 secs.

Nick Lingley scored a massive pb in winning silver in the U20 800m in 1m52.33secs. and Ashley Fry also claimed silver in the U20 400m Hurdles in yet another pb of 53.52secs.

Laura Burke was another 400m Hurdles medal winner, this time bronze in the U20 event in 60.75secs. It was also bronze for Steve Watson in the Under 20 Discus with 54m22

Just out of the medal hunt were 4th placers Steve McLellan Senior Pole Vault 4m50, Mark Holloway Senior Long Jump 7m21 and Chloe Mays U20 200m in 25.29secs
