Some 130 athletes from as far afield as Leeds and Southampton descended upon the Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday for the final competition in the WSEH AC Winter Indoor Series. Athletes from the local club were in good form which bodes well for the summer season now just some 6 weeks away.
Rion Pierre was by far the fastest of the Senior Men in the 60m sprint with his 6.75secs clocking, showing that his injury stricken winter is now behind him. Mark Holloway was 2nd ranked on 7.04secs. Ravi Talla was also 2nd placed in the U20 Men category with his time of 7.28 secs and Taku Muzungo was the best of the Under 17 Men with 7.41 secs. Training partner Kamoal Mccrae was 2nd placed in this age group with 7.50 secs. In the younger age groups Ebeneze Brown was 3rd paced in the Under 15’s in 8.26 secs whilst younger brother Delza topped the Under 13’s with 9.35 secs.
Amongt the females, Caroline Livingstone was 2nd place Senior with her 8.09 secs but Georgia Lamothe topped her time with 7.92 secs to head the Under 20’s. Shalisha Patrick was the best of the Under 17’s on 8.04 secs, with Eleanor Duck in 2nd with 8.39 secs. Steph Clitheroe maintained the dominance in the U15 category with her 8.06 clocking and newcomer Ellie Jackson continued the success run by heading the Under 13’s with 9.17 secs. WSEH also provided the 2nd and 3rd placed athletes in this category via Camille Bailey (9.40secs) and G. Seymour (9.45 secs).

Over the 60m Hurdles, the new National Champion Stephanie Clitheroe demonstrated her blend of power and grace to good effect with a clear victory in the Under 15 Girls race in 9.21 secs. Charlotte Banks was the best of the Under 17 Ladies with 9.41secs, with Eleanor Duck in 2nd on 9.53 secs.
The best WSEH performances in the Field Events came in Long Jump where Alan Kennedy won the Senior event with 6m71 and David Harvey the Under 20 with 6m56. Shakira Whight was the best of the Senior Ladies in 2nd with 5m47.Hope White was also 2nd in the Under 13 with 3m88, with Chroma Atuanya 4th on 3m00.
The Shot event provided two victories, with Ellie Norris winning the Under 17 with 8m45 and Alex Gomez the Under 15 with 8m52. Ellie Jackson was 2nd in the Under 13 with 6m67 with Hope White 3rd on 5m91.
