Over a 100 athletes descended upon the Thames valley Athletics centre on Sunday to participate in the first of the WSEH AC Indoor open Meetings series. There were a fair few local athletes amongst the competitors resulting in success both on the track and in the field. The Pole Vault event was dominated by WSEH with Egryn Jones winning the Senior Mens event with an excellent 4m60, Charlie Smith the U20 age group with 4m10, Dan Ditton the U17’s with 3m30 and Mark Wood the U15 with 3m20.
Coach Steve Mclennan was 2nd in the Senior Men with 3m80. Best of the females was Alice Humble who triumphed in the U20 event with 2m90. Success continued in the High Jump with David Cole winning the Senior Men with 1m90 and Luke Quinn the U17 Men with 1m70.

The 60m Hurdles event produced more WSEH winners. Harriet Shurley was the best of the Senior Ladies with her 9.33 secs. Steph Clitheroe, the current National Indoor Champion, went even faster to win the U17 race in 9.29secs. There was also a winning debut for new signing Alex Walker in the U17 Mens event with 8.83secs.

In the 60m sprint there was more success. Ravi Talla was an U20 winner in 7.27 secs.There were a whole host of WSEH Under 17 athletes that crossed the line first in their respective races – Kamoal MaCrae (7.51), Jan Walusiak (7.58), Jordan Thomas(7.60), Oliver Carroll(8.00). Rachel Abrese was a winner in the U20 Ladies in 8.78secs.
