WSEH’s hopes of a repeat of the overall victory in the last match at Watford were thwarted by a clash of fixtures that robbed WSEH of several key athletes. Even so the local club managed team victories in the Under 20 Mens, Under 17 Men and Under 13 Girls races which produced a 3rd place in the overall team result behind Milton Keynes AC and Bedford & County AC.

Senior Mens Race
Once again the major input for WSEH in this race came from their strong Under 20 group. Of these Khalid Al Abaidy proved the best of the bunch in 11th, closely followed by Alex Goodall in 13th. WSEH Senior Simon Millett was 15th. Another U20 athletes then crossed the line in Ben Kennard 29th , with Senior Cameron Smart 35th. More U20 athletes then closed in with James Tidd in 44th and Jonny Dry in 45th. There was a long wait before Rory Graham – Watson appeared in 105th and then veteran stalwart Wal Wesselly completed the team scoring in 177th position.

Senior Ladies Race
Just three Seniors toed the line. Danielle Barnes had a super run for 2nd place, with veteran Marina Steadman 9th and Leigh James 16th.

Team Result: 1. Vale of Aylesbury AC 300pts, 5, WSEH 240pts

Under 17 Mens Race
Jack Rowe was the individual winner for WSEH but he was pressed hard by Kieran Wye in 2nd, now coming back to form. Jack Chapman was another improver in 4th place and newcomer Jacob Rainier completed the WSEH team in 15th place. Other WSEH finishers were 20th Greg Baynham, 29th Rob Hall.

Under 20/Under 17 Girls Race
WSEH provided the largest contingent in this race with the front runner being Maryse Haynes in 4th place. Kirsty Marshall had perhaps her best run to date in 9th, with Alice Wills on her heels in 11th. Ella Pepper made a welcome return in 12th to complete the WSEH team. Other WSEH finishers were 17th Naomi Barbour, 21st Ellie Wallis, 23rd Abbie Schmid.

Team Result: 1. Milton Keynes 63pts 2. WSEH 60pts.

Under 15 Boys Race
WSEH were hardest hit by the fixture clash in this race. Will Brennan led the WSEH trio home in 17th place with twins Harry Critchley 20th and San Critchley 23rd.

Under 15 Girls Race
Eloise Davison was the first WSEH athlete to finish with her best run of the winter in 7th place. Emily Reeves was next home in 12th, with Kathryn Ditton in 14th and Lauren Miller completing the team in 19th place. Other WSEH finishers were: 22nd Sophie Bigmore, 23rd Carla Stangroom, Lizzie Newton 29th

Under 13 Boys Race
Tom Fitch in 8th just held off Max O’Neill in 9th to lead WSEH home. Jack Moszkal was 21st and Tom Maddock saw home the WSEH team in 24th. Other WSEH finishers were 31st Jack Davies, 32nd Callum McLeod

Under 13 Girls Race
WSEH athletes dominated this race with 4 athletes home in the first 6. Eugenie Cockle led the way with her individual victory with Sophie Davies a whisker away in 2nd. Evie Higton in 5th and Nancy Scott in 6th also had fine runs to close the WSEH team. Other WSEH finishers were: 12th Sam Bonny, 15th Kirstin Sutherland, 17th Tula Hart, 20th Olivia Smyth, 28th Beth Daines, 33rd Isobel Legg, 35th Rhiannon Ward, 41st Bethany O’Brien.

Under 11 Boys Race
Dan Brookling was on song with his 2nd place with Matt Daines 18th.

Under 11 Girls Race
Abigail White proved best of the WSEH duo in this race, finishing 22nd with newcomer Amy-Rose reeves in 29th.
