WSEH AC were hosts to some 800 athletes who turned up at Upton Court Park in Slough on Saturday to contest the 3rd match in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League series. The 10 races produced a number of excellent individual performances from WSEH athletes plus team victories in the Senior Ladies and Under 15 Girls races.
Pride of place went to Becca Croft who won the U15 Girls race but there were also 2nd spots for Alex Tovey in the Senior Mens race, Danielle Barnes in the Senior Ladies race and Daniel Brookling in the Under 11 Boys event. Ricky Harvie also claimed the 3rd place in the U17 Mens race.

Senior Men
WSEH were short on the ground to offer any effective challenge in the team race. Alex Tovey led the way with his 2nd place but there were excellent runs from Simon Millett in 11th – his best to date, Charlie Coleman in 16th (3rd Vet), and Cameron Smart making the top 20 for the first time in 20th place. Under 20 athlete Nathan Ditton was next home in 42nd place. There was a long wait for the final WSEH athlete, stalwart Wal Wessely in 163rd place ( 7th Vet 60)
Team Result: 1. Bedford 1655, 11th WSEH 874
Senior Ladies
Daniellle Barnes chased the Bedford winner throughout the race before settling for 2nd, some 4 secs adrift. Marina Stedmam claimed the 1st vet spot in finishing in 9th place just ahead of Claire Danson in 13th place, with Leigh James having a super run for 17th to complete the team scoring. Other WSEH finishers were; 25th Paula Fudge(2nd Vet55), 35th Suzanna Ditton, 69th Paula Hing(Vet)
Team Result: 1. WSEH 331, 2. Headington Runners 311, 3. Milton Keynes 304.
Under 17 Men
Ricky Harvie was the only WSEH runner in this race taking 3rd spot.
Team result: 1.Bedford 87, 6th WSEH 22.
Under 20/U17 Ladies
There was better WSEH representation in this race. Bex Myers led the WSEH contingent with her 11th place, with Mary – Alice Davison on her heels in 12th place. Emma Croft completed the team in 17th place. Other WSEH finishers were: 19th Alice Wills, 23rd Ellie Wallis

Under 15 Boys
Once again WSEH struggled to field a squad in this race with usual team members opting to concentrate on next weekend’s county schools event.
Best of the WSEH trio was Harry Critchley in 27th, with Niall Anderson in 34th, just heading Sam Critchley in 35th place.

Under 15 Girls
In contrast the WSEH representation in this race, with 16 starters, was the biggest of the day of any club. The race was also marked by the first ever appearance for WSEH of triplets. Becca Crodft spearheaded the thrust with her winning effort but she was well supported by Rebecca Killip in 6th and Josie Savill in 7th. Kathryn Ditton Completed the team in 15th place. Other WSEH finishers were: 16th Clover Godsal, 19th Amy Hoskins, 21st Lauren Miller, 23rd Sophie Bigmore, 27th Lizzie Newton, 32nd Carla Stangroom, 33rd Hannah Gregory, 34th Sabrina Gregory, 35th Alex Gregory, 37th Gina Shields.42nd Georgina Lowe.
Team Result: 1. WSEH 143.
Under 13 Boys
It was good to see a number of WSEH athletes making their debut in this race.
Tom Fitch was, as usual, the first WSEH athletec to appear in 6th place. Max O’Neill had his usual solid run for 11th. Joe Moskzal in 21st edged Joe Killip into 23rd place. Jack Davies completed the team in 27th place. Other WSEH finishers were: 29th Callum McLeod, 34th Ben Haswell, 35th Nathan Harvie, 42nd Jack Goddard.

Under 13 Girls
Once again the WSEH girls were out in force. Sophie Davies proved best of the bunch with her 4th place, just 1sec ahead of Evie Higton in 5th. New member Abi Fricker made her mark with her 12th place and Olivia Smyth completed the team in 16th place. Other WSEH finishers were: 29th Isobel Legg, 24th Beth Daines, 29th Juliette Ehinger, 30th Rhiannon Word, 33rd Emily Tebbit, 37th Monika Dochan, 39th Charlie Richards, 43rd Moon Aleston, 51st Isabella Hunter.
Under 11 Boys
Daniel Brookling enhanced his growing reputation with a fine 2nd place. He was well supported by a good run from Matt Daines in 8th place and Daniel Beer completed the WSEH team in 35th place;
Team result: 1. Chiltern Harriers 126, 2nd WSEH 99.
Under 11 Girls
Best for WSEH was Abbie White in 21st place, with Amy –Rose reeves in 35th and Eve Haswell in 48th position.
