Chiltern Cross Country League Luton
WSEH sent only male athletes to represent the Club in the Chiltern Cross Country League at Luton on Saturday with the main contribution coming from the Senior Men. Team Captain Simon Millett lead by example with his 5th place finish in 25m84. Newcomer George Vacherporeos showed his talent with a 21st place in 20m54, closely followed by James Tidd in 26th place on 30m15. There was a gap before Blake Moore appeared in 89th place in 32m50 with veteran Ryan Brookilng not far adrift in 98th place. There was another small gap before Richard Weaver crossed the line in 114th place in 33m55. Veteran Paul Ashby completed the team with his 253rd place on 39m26.

There were just two WSEH athletes in the Under 17 Mens race, with Dan Brookling returning to form with his 5th place in 19m09. Joseph Clarke was the other finisher from the local club with his 43rd place in 22m10.

WSEH INDOOR OPEN MEETING AT TVAC Sun Dec 3rd
Though athletes from across the South of England converged on the Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday for the opening competition in the WSEH AC Winter Indoor Open Series, numbers were well down on previous years, undoubtedly affected by a similar competition in East London at the Lee Valley Centre.
There were some good results from the few WSEH athletes in attendance.
The 60m Sprint saw a victory fur Olivia Downey in the U15 race in a time of 8m55secs. There was a second place for Alex Haydock–Wilson in the U20 age group in 7.15secs with Dean Blackwood 3rd in 7.19 secs. The U17 race produced another second place for Jaskaran Khaney in 8.03 secs. Megan Duberley was similarly placed in the U17 Ladies in 8.62secs.
The field events added to the second place preponderance with Abraham Melbourne 2nd in the U20m Pole Vault on 3m16 and the trend continued in the High Jump where David Walker was 2nd in the Senior competition with a 2m00 clearance.

LEE VALLEY INDOOR OPEN MEETING
There was a larger contingent of WSEH athletes at the Lee Valley Open Meeing, attracted by the increased number of events available with it’s 300m track.
Personal bests were the order of the day for a large number of the WSEH athletes.
The 60m sprint saw victories for Sam Higgins U20 in 7.31 secs, for Kam Cheung–Lambert in the U17 race in 7.65secs, Elliott Marston in the U13 race in 8.55secs and for Tia Richards in the Senior Ladies race in 7.99secs.
Kam Cheung-Lambert was back on track in the 300m, with another victory in 38.91secs. The WSEH females also performed well at this distance. Charlotte Humphries was the winner of her U20 race in 43.10secs with Abigail Hutchby following her example in the next U20 race to win in 45.84sec. There was also a win for Isla Brown in the U15 race in 47.82secs.
The winning streak continued in the 60m Hurdles with Abby Masquelier taking the U15 race in 8.46secs

There is no club fixture for next weekend.
