WSEH AC athletes played a prominent part competing for their County Schools teams in the English Schools Cross Country Championships in Leeds on Saturday.

In the Junior Boys event Sam Hodgson, competing for Berkshire, led for most of the race before giving ground to finish 7th but nonetheless being named for the English Schools team for the Home Countries International in Nottingham this weekend. In the same race Luke Hynes was 47th, Will Goddard 105th and Rocco Hudson 139th.

Another WSEH athlete to make the England squad was Meg Ormond. Competing for Surrey, she finished 17th in the Senior Girls race. Jess Robinson was 41st in the same race.

Phoebe Anderson was another to shine with her 11th place for Bucks Schools in the Inter Girls race, with Molly Jones 68th, Kate Thompson 75th and Amy Young 78th.

In the Junior Girls event Charlotte Dewar was the best of the Berks Schools team with her 21st place, with Jasmine Young 60th and Eloise Harris 90th
