Some 300 athletes descended upon the Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday to compete in the WSEH AC Spring Open Meeting.

National Under 20 400m champion Alex Haydock-Wilson, was in good form winning both his races in style, clocking 11.11secs for the 100m and 34.13secs for the 300m.

Martina Jiminez was a winner of her U13 75m sprint in 11.5 secs with Sampda Sharma in second on 11.7secs.
Joshua Pearson was another WSEH athlete that dominated, winning his U17 100m Race in 11.71secs, then going on to complete the double in the 200m in 22.63secs. Kaif Rizvi was another WSEH U17 100m winner in 12.21secs. James Badham made a winning home debut with his U15 100m time of 12.54secs. Also in the U15 age group, Alex Pennycooke was first across the line in 14.06secs.

James Badham was back on the track for the U15 200m winning again in 25.29secs. Alex Pennycooke also completed a double of victories winning his U15 200m in 28.17 secs, with Adam Sfendia the best of the U13’s in 28.28secs.

Oliver Cloherty showed a clean pair of heels to his chasers to win his U15 200m in 25.44secs.

Best of the WSEH female 200m competitors was Liana Williams who took the tape in the U15 200m in 28.77secs.

The 300m races were dominated by WSEH athletes with Jonathan Brew winning his U15 race in style with a 42.0secs clocking. Jatila Blake followed his example by winning the Senior Ladies event in 42.30secs.
The 400m races provided a win for Reiss Durban-Davison with a time of 51.84 secs in the Senior race.
The 800m races saw two WSEH winners emerge. Sofyan Soogun won his U20 race in 2m34.7 whilst Joshua Claassen won his U13 race in 2m40.03.

The Field events produced more success for WSEH athletes. Kai Norbron was a winner of the U13 Boys Long Jump with a pb of 4m18 and Ollie Carroll won the Senior event with 5m37.

Newcomer Seb Baker impressed with his winning debut in the U13 High Jump with a 1m30 clearance.
The best result in the Javelin came from Jodie Smith with her U17 winning effort of 37m01.

WSEH international Amy Holder threw an excellent 48m36 to win the Senior Discus.
The Hammer event saw a glut of top class performances from the WSEH athletes present. Iain Botting won the Senior Mens event with 42m09, Janet Smith the Senior Womens with 35m74, Bayley Campbell the U20 Mens with a superb 68m31 and Molly Kinnon the U20 Womens on 23m75.
