British Athletic League Div 1 - Liverpool
A respectable 5th place by WSEH AC after their long trip to Liverpool saw the local club successfully retain their British Athletic League Div 1 status.

Star performer for the local club was Deji Tobais who won both the 100m(10.36secs) and 200m(21.04secs)
The track events opened well for WSEH with Tyri Donovan winning the 300m Hurdles in 51.38secs. with a rejuvenated Andy Clements 2nd in the B race in 54.8secs.
The 800m saw Rory Graham–Watson place 3rd in 1m55.1, the same placing achieved by Michael Louise in the 110m Hurdles in 15.55secs with Harry Barnett going one better in the B race in 16.82secs.
400m Hurdler specialist turned his attention to the flat 400m to good effect winning in 48.50secs. Usual 400m runner Alex Haydock–Wilson switched his attentions to the 200m, with a 3rd place in pb of 21.83secs. Chris Madden made his debut for the club with 3rd place in the 5000m in 15m00.6.
Another to make a reappearance for the local club after a couple of years break was Sam Hewitt in the High Jump, indicating that he has lost none of his edge with a good 2nd place on 1m93, allowing David Walker to win the B string with 1m88. The Long Jump produced two 3rd places for WSEH with Sam Challis on 6m92 and Euan Bryden on 6m54. There was a similar placing for Teepee Princewell in the Triple Jump on 14m16 with the busy Euan Bryden improving to 2nd in the B string with 13m57. Best of the Throwing Events came from Iain Botting who was 4th in the Hammer with a pb of 43m88.
The meeting culminated on a high for WSEH with a win in the final event, the 4x400m relay from the squad of Tyri Donovan, Josh Pearson, Alex Haydock-Wilson and Jacob Paul in a time of 3m15.93secs.

Alder Valley Boys League – Eton Sun Aug 5th
The WSEH team for the Alder Valley Boys match at Eton on Sunday was hard hit by holiday absentees, however some good performances from those present produced a useful 5th place in the 9 club match.

The best result in the Under 13’s came in the 75m Hurdles where Kai Norbron was 3rd in the A race vin 14.6secs with Seb Baker clocking the same time to win the B race. Erstwhile sprinter Joseph Caesar turned his hand to the 800m with good effect, placing 4th in 2m34.2.

The best results in the Under 15 section came in the Throws. The talented Finley Moore won the Javelin (39m03) and the Hammer(36m03) supported to maximum points with victories in the B string from Jack Campbell(26m03) and Chris William(24m70). Oliver Cloherty(39.3secs) and Jack Campbell(41.0secs) were both 3rd placed in the 300m. The 1500m saw Matt Knight 4th with 4m44.7 with Sam Helsby 2nd in the B string on 4m58.2
Josh Pearson, on song following his Liverpool trip, won the 400m in 50.5secs, with Marvin Tchangwa 3rd in 56.2 secs. Tchangwa was back on track in the 800m, this time winning in 2m06.08. Best of the sprints came from Karl Rizvi, 4th in the 200m A in a pb of 23.5secs, with Ekene Ojeomah, 2nd in the B race in 23.9secs.
Best of the Field results came from Dylan Val in the High Jump with his pb leap of 1m45.

Home Countries Schools International
Competing for English Schools in the Home Countries Schools international against teams from Scotland and Wales, WSEH’s Ayoola Babalola claimed the silver medal in the 100m in a new pb of 12.11secs.
