Club Achievements 2017

South of England Indoor Championships
WSEH AC athletes were amongst the medal winners at the South of England Indoor Championships at the Lea Valley Stadium last week.
The WSEH Pole Vaulters that were on form. Euan Bryden won the Senior Mens Pole Vault with an excellent 5m00 clearance. Jasmine Presho was the silver medallist in the U20 Ladies event with her pb equalling 3m20. Veteran Pole Vaulter Chris Mills was also in the action finishing 8th with 4m00.

WSEH Indoor Open Meeting
The second in the series of WSEH AC Winter Indoor Open Meetings attracted some 200 athletes from as far afield as Manchester and Southampton.

WSEH were prominent in the various track and field events

WSEH AC dominated the Berkshire Cross country Championships at Prospect Park, Reading on Saturday emerging with four individual champions and five team gold awards.

Chiltern Cross Country League Luton

The Berks Bucks & Oxon Cross Country Championships is one of the oldest such event in the athletics calendar having been competed for since 1909 when Slough Harriers won the inaugural event. The local club have enjoyed their fair share of success over the years but nothing can compare to the achievement at Prospect Park Reading on Sunday when WSEH emerged with 5 individual winners and 3 sets of team golds in the 10 race event plus a whole host of minor medals.

WSEH AC were in action on Saturday in the second of the Chiltern Cross Country League series with a match in Milton Keynes.

There were relatively few WSEH females on display but the best result of the day was delivered by a WSEH lady athlete.

Charlotte Firth produced an excellent 2nd place in the Senior Ladies event in a time of 22m12. She had only lone support however, Juliette Soane nonetheless producing her best run to date to finish 20th in 24m52.

The only other WSEH female present was Izzie Thompson who finished 28th in the Under 15 girls event in a time of 16m30.
