Club Achievements 2017

From Club Secretary Dennis Daly
SUMMARY – SUMMER SEASON

Despite a depleted turn out from WSEH AC for the 2nd match in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League series at Shuttleworth Park, Beds on Saturday there wedre neverless some good individual and team performances..

The top team result for the local club came in the Under 13 Boys race where Max O’Neill led the WSEH team to victory with his best league run to date in 2nd place. He was well supported by close packing by his team mates, Marcus Shantry finishing 10th, Dan Brookling 11th and Jack Goddard 12th.

WSEH AC’s long trip to Berry Hill Park Mansfield over the weekend to contest the England Cross Country Relay Championships proved extremely worthwhile with medals accruing in the Under 17 Mens and Under 13 Boys events,

Jack Rowe led off the U17 team coming home in 5th place in 9.24m. Jivendra Singh moved into 4th place on the 2nd leg with 9.39m and Charlie Critchley secured the bronze medals on the 3rd leg with his clocking of 9.21m.

WSEH AC fielded 12 teams in the Surrey Cross Country Relay Championships at Guildford on Saturday, returning with three sets of gold medals, one silver and two of bronze.

The U17 Mens event was totally dominated by WSEH with Jack Rowe(6.54m), Jacob Rainier(7.23m) and Charlie Critchley(6.58m) combining to win the gold awards and Gus Cockle (7.34m), Josh Bowden(7.33m) and George Gathercole(7.25m) grabbing the bronze medals. The WSEH C team of Greg Baynham(7,22m), Sammy King(8.03m) and Tom Coe(8.11m) was 6th.
