WSEH AC secured their future Div1 status witna 5th place finish in the final match of the British League Div1 series in Manchester on Saturday.

World Championships – Olympic Park London
WSEH AC had four athletes representing GB at the World Championships in the Olympic Park Stadium last week, with varying degrees of success.

Rachal Wallader was the first to appear in the Shot event on Tuesday. She was 12th in the qualifying round with a below par distance of 16m81 well short of her WSEH Club Record of 17m53 set last year.

WSEH AC’s Alder Valley Boys match on Sunday was fraught with problems when the coach booked to get the team to Portsmouth failed to arrive. Last minute re-arrangement got most of the team to Portsmouth by cars in time to compete in their respective events. School holidays had already caused gaps in the WSEH team. Good results from new members eased the problems and the local club eventually finished in 4th place in the match.

WSEH AC look to have booked their place in the National Finals of the UK Athletics Youth Development Under20/17 League in Birmingham in September with a place in Europe beckoning beyond that, following their 3rd place finish in the final match of their Southern Premier Series at Hendon on Sunday.

The WSEH AC Mens British League Team look to have consolidated their Div 1 status, with a 4th place finish in their penultimate match at Bedford on Saturday.

Sunday's Anniversary Games at the Olympic Stadium featured for of Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow's international athletes and four of the club's excellent relay squads, invited to compete in the games, because of their ranking in the UKA relay lists.

For the international athletes, it was business as usual and they all performed well, With Shelayna Oskan-Clarke placing 2nd in the 800m, in an impressive time of 1.59.82, Jacob Paul achieving a new best and a club record in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 49.49, Morgan Lake jumping 1.90 in High Jump and Ashley Bryant, 7.42 in the Long Jump.
