WSEH had two athletes on show in the televised Aviva Indoor International in Glasgow. Lawrence Clarke set a new personal best of 7.67 secs in the 60m Hurdles behind the Russian Konstantin Shabanov and American Dexter Faulk and in doing so got the better on UK No1 Andy Turner who finished 5th. Shelayna Oskan got her first Senior international vest finishing 5th in the 400m in 55.57secs,

In an Indoor International Meeting in Bratislava WSEH’s Helen Pryer was 2nd in the 400m in 56.52secs and 4th in the 60m in 7.74secs whilst Yasmine Regis secured 4th in the Triple Jump with 12m88.

WSEH AC had perhaps their best ever overall results in the South of England Cross Country Championships at Stammer Park Brighton on Saturday with 3 sets of team medals accruing, golds in the under 15 boys and Underr15 girls plus bronze in the Under 20 Men. It was a tough undulating course but conditions underfoot were good,
Gus Cockle led the WSEH charge in the Under 15 Boys race with his 9th place, followed by George Gathercole in 17th, Jivendra Sigh in 19th and the improving Josh Bowden completing the team in 21st place.

With only the Surrey Schools results currently available from the County Schools Cross Country Championships, there is little to report. In the Surrey Championships WSEH had 34 athletes on display. Of these Tara de Klerk had a confidence building 2nd place in the U12 Girls race and Jack Rowe was 3rd in the Inter Boys.
Other WSEH athletes to make the top 10 were:
    U11 Boys Art Croasdale,
U12 Girls Eugenie Cockle, Sam Bonny
    Junior Girls Evie Higton,
Inter Boys Gus Cockle, Charlie Critchley, Josh Bowden, George Gathercole
    Inter Girls, Emily reeves
    Senior Boys Eion O’Brien

Part 2 of the South of England Championships at Lee Valley saw WSEH athletes continue to add to the medal tally of last weekend.

An anticipated gold fell to the talented Morgan Lake in the Under 17 Long Jump with a leap of 5m53 and she went on to also take bronze in the 60m hurdles in 8.78secs. The surprise gold also came in this latter event where Charlotte Williams made her breakthrough with 9.42secs in the Under 15 final.

WSEH athletes were in dominant form at Part 1 of the South of England Indoor Championships at Lee Valley on the weekend emerging with 5 Southern Champions and 3 other medallists. Former international Lesley Owusu looks to be bouncing back to form in Olympic year to win the Senior Ladies 400m in 55.49secs.. Sophie Papps, who swept all before her last year, continued where she left off in 2011, by winning the Under 20 200m in 24.99secs. New signing Laura Farrer showed her pedigree by winning the U20 800m in 2m24.78secs.
