On Sunday WSEH hosted the second in their Winter Series of Open Indoor Meetings at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre which attracted some 220 athletes keen to establish marks for the forthcoming National Indoor Championships. Athletes travelled from places as far between as West Cornwall, the Isle of Wight and Liverpool to take advantage of the competition on offer. WSEH were well represented. Best of the local athletes in the 60m sprint were U17 Men Adam Medcraft (7.26 secs), U15 Girl Karimah Muhammad (8.13secs) and Under 13 Girl Steph Clitheroe (8.48 secs) – all topping their age groups. In the 60m Hurdles it was Rose Reynolds that topped the U20 Age group with her 9.07 secs, Cath Hall-Jones was similarly placed in the Under 17 Ladies with 9.06 secs anf Sam Maguire was the best of the Under 15 Boys with his 9.42 secs.
WSEH athletes were also prominent in the Field Events. Mark Holloway was the best of the Senior Men Long Jumpers with his 6m63 and David Harvey jumped to a pb of 6m30 to top the U17 Mens list.. Julian Golley was by far and away the best of the Senior Men Triple Jumpers with his 15m53 effort.
