Kingston & Poly AC Open Graded Meeting - Kingston - Sun, 16th Mar 2008
With the new track season fast approaching, several WSEH athletes were in action in anticipation at the Kingston & Poly AC Open Meeting on Saturday. There were second places for Nasya Harvey in the Under 17 Hammer with a new pb of 36m56 and in the shot with 8m40. Sarah Phelps was similarly placed in the Under 17 Javelin with 17m28.
On the track there were more successes. Sarah Phelps won the Under 17 80mHurdles in 16.25secs and Matt Bezzant opened his campaign with a win in the 300m Under 17 with 38.79 secs.
There was also a win for newcomer Joanne Fallon in the Under 13 800m in 2m47.69. Ed Gumpert in the equivalent Boys race was 3rd in 2m46.43. Chris Reilly was another 3rd placer in the Under 17 800m in 2m11.6 secs, with Luke Porter 5th in 2m17.54 secs. Younger brother James Porter was 6th placed in the Under 15 3000m in 11m53.52 secs.
