    Another good result from the WSEH AC Under 20 team at Woodford on Sunday saw them maintaining their momentum for a place in the National Junior League Final in Derby in September.

    Aviva Under 23/20 World Trials - Sat,19th - Sun,20th Jun 2010 - Bedford

    WSEH AC athletes were in abundance at the Aviva U23/20 Championships in Bedford over the weekend, hoping to stake their place in the GB team for the World U23 Championships later this year. Several made their mark thus staking a serious claim for a GB team pace.

    The local club emerged with four champions, one silver mdallist and three bronze winners.

    UK Young Athletes League - Sun, 20th Jun 2009 - Bannister Sports Centre, Harrow

    The WSEH AC young athletes continued on their triumphant path with another win in their National Young Athletes League series to maintain their unbeaten tag and place at the top of the league table. Sunday’s match at Harrow was no formality however with 2nd placed Tonbridge AC and 4th placed Reading AC as their opponents. In the end WSEH AC ran out comfortable winners with a 37 point cushion.

    County Schools Championships - Sat, 12th Jun 2010 - Various Venues

    WSEH athletes were prominent in the County Schools Championships at various venues.

    In the Berks event at Reading two WSEH athletes set new County Records. Georgia Lamothe smashed through former international Bev Callender’s old mark in the Under 19 100m with a time of 12.0 secs dead and Nicola Swaffield set a new record in the U17 3000m with 10m17.2secs. Lily-Mae Fisher broke her 2009 record by setting a new record of 3m00 in the Pole Vault.

    SEAA Senior/Under 20 Championships - Sat, 12th Jun - Sun, 13th Jun 2010 - Crystal Palace

    WSEH AC athletes were in super form at the South of England AA Senior and Under 20 Championships at Crystal Palace over the weekend.

    Pride of place went to Dan Pembroke setting a new Championship Best Performance in the Under 20 Javelin with a massive throw of 72m54, in the process breaking not only his own Under 20 WSEH Club Record but also annexing the Senior mark as well. A slight modification to his arm action has seen him twice, in as many weeks, exceed the 70m barrier.

    British Athletics League Premiership - Sat, 5th Jun 2010 - Copthall

    After an absence of one season, WSEH returned to the British League Premiership for only the third time in their history. Last time the team were clearly outclassed but now the team were able to compete and actually produced three winners. On the track it was Junior International, Deji Tobais,who won the 200m B race in 21.65 secs and in the 800m B race, Rory Graham-Watson, led from start to finish to record an immaculate win. Our third victory was in the A string Javelin where Under 20 star, Dan Pembroke, sent the spear a massive 70.04m to secure a well deserved victory.
