WSE & Hounslow Ladies victorious again!

Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) A.C. ladies continued their winning ways in the 2nd of a 5 match series in Southern Women’s League Premier Division. A decisive win at the Horsham venue, places the team a close 2nd place in the overall league standings.
This impressive achievement bore testament to the strength in depth of the young athletes section of the club, from where the ladies had to field 2 teams over the weekend.

National Junior League - Southern Premier Division - Sun, 25th May 2008 - Uxbridge (H)

WSEH’s over reliance on their Under 17 athletes in the National Junior Under 20 League was all too evident in their Premier Division match at Uxbridge on Sunday. With their top Under 17 athletes competing in the South of England Championships, it was a much weakened team that slumped to 7th spot in the match. Hopes of a place in the Finals competition in Derby in September thus took a serious jolt. The club had to rely heavily on multi eventers Ashley Bryant and Jamie East to fill the gaps in the Mens team.

Southern Veterans League - Mon, 19th May 2008 - Horspath, Oxford

This time the weather was cold and slightly windy.
The WSEH team of 3 women were placed 6th. Janet Binns ran a winning time of 2:32.8 in the V50 800m, which is 2nd in the UK rankings this year.
The WSEH team of 7 men were placed 5th. Best performances were in the 200m, where there were victories for Scott Dorset (23.8), Danny Hodge (26.3), and Derek Wardle V60 (27.4) which also gives him 2nd in the UK rankings this year, plus a second place for Rod Davies V50 (27.1).

Match Result: 1. Havering Mayesbrook AC 136pts, 2. Exeter Harriers 134pts.
    3. Kent AC 87pts, 4. Ipswich Harriers 86pts, 5. WSEH 79pts

In the 100m Mark Holloway, flying at the moment, equalled his pb with 10.8 secs.in winning the A string. Andrew Weekes made his debut with 4th in the B with 11.7 secs.
